VELOCITY FOREVER is a campaign to relocate and build out a new facility for the organization's programming and operations. Having secured the perfect building, Velocity needs everyone's participation to transform the raw space into a center for training, performance, and community gathering.

Why the move? Velocity's 13-year home in the Odd Fellows Building was sold to a developer in 2007, rent was raised 300 percent, and all non-profit tenants were priced out of their home.

Where is Velocity's new home? 1621 12th Avenue. After tireless searching for a new facility, Velocity secured one of the last viable arts centers in the neighborhood, just three blocks from its former home and will guarantee its commitment to the arts well into the future. Velocity's new home will be located in the space formerly occupied by Capitol Hill Arts Center.

When are you moving? We're relocating in the first quarter of 2010. CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS WILL CONTINUE AT THE ODD FELLOWS BUILDING UNTIL WE MOVE. ĘPlease keep checking back in with us for updates and sign up for our newsletter to get the latest info.

Tell me about the new space. Velocity's new 6,000 square foot home will include:

A beautiful large studio that converts into a 100-seat theater for dance
Two additional light-filled studios for classes and rehearsals
A lobby/community space
A box office and sign in desk
A visible and accessible office space
